Qualification for Bocuse d'Or 2021 is hosted at Bite Copenhagen 2019


The world's most prestigious chef competition Bocuse

d´Or has just finished, and Danish chef Kenneth Toft-Hansen won gold.

It was exciting until the end and many countries were predicted to have a spot on the podium. Denmark was among the favorites with Norway, Sweden, Japan, USA and the host country France. But Kenneth Toft-Hansen's two dishes were superior and the judges were more than convinced that Denmark once again had to be on the winning podium. It is the 6th time that Denmark is on the podium and receives a medal at the Bocuse d'Or.

-It's a moment I've been waiting for a long time and struggled hard to reach so it's great to stand here now. I have been working intensively since last year, and I felt the day through the kitchen a certainty that I would succeed with every detail. And we did. We hit a good level and there were no surprises. Our succes in the kitchen is not least thanks to my fantastic assistant Christian Wellendorf. He gave everything of himself and he has the ability to keep calm under the great pressure, says Kenneth Toft-Hansen.

The most winning Bocuse d'Or chef through history is Danish Rasmus Kofoed, and since autumn he has been in the kitchen as coach for Kenneth. - It has been a huge privilege to have Rasmus in the kitchen. I couldn't wish for a better partner to spare with. Rasmus has been a huge support, and he believed in me from the start, says Kenneth Toft-Hansen.

Denmark's next candidate for Bocuse d´Or will be found at a prestigious competition on August 28, 2019 at Bella Center Copenhagen in connection with Bite Copenhagen. The European Championships will take place in 2020 in Tallinn, Estonia.
